About Me

my photoI teach at Los Alamitos High School (go Griffins!) in North Orange County, California. We are a suburban public school in a small district (1 high school, 2 middle schools and 6 elementaries).

In addition to teaching for three periods (AP Calculus BC and Precalculus), I serve as a Math Common Core Teacher on Special Assignment (TOSA) for the high school. I also act as a liaison with the 2 middle schools and the district office.

I LOVE teaching math, but admit that my teaching is a bit “old school” sometimes. I am trying to better my craft, integrate more technology and create a classroom that excites, engages and challenges my students…not a tall order at all! As TOSA, my job is to help make the “transition to common core” go more smoothly for my colleagues. I attend conferences and training sessions, plus help others come up with improved ways to deliver content.

This blog is for my musings and thoughts on general classroom procedures, projects and activities and TOSA jobs and opportunities.
